L. Somasundaram
L. Somasundaram is the Program Head of the Development Metrics group in CDF. His research is focused on Development Economics, Economic Geography and Urbanization. Before coming to CDF, he was a project manager for Reliance Industries Ltd.'s Business Intelligence Unit. He holds an MA in Econometrics from the University of Madras and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Institute for Financial Management and Research in Chennai
Santosh Singh
Santosh Singh is a Senior Researcher at Centre for Development Finance. His research interests includes Economic Governance, Rural Markets / BoP Market Strategy, Demand Dynamics of BoP Markets and demand estimation methodologies. He is currently working on "Clean Energy for BoP Market" and developing demand estimation methodologies and tools for BoP products and services.
Before coming to CDF, he worked with Olam International in CÔte d'Ivoire establishing a Sawn Timber Trading division for the organization. He graduated with an MBA (PGDFM) from Indian Institute of Forest Management in Bhopal.
Chinmaya Kumar
Chinmaya Kumar has graduated from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi with B.A.(H) degree in Economics. He is interested in area of Political economy of development, Subjective well-being and Governance. He is currently studying how subjective perceptions of well-being of the poor influences their decision making and how such decisions affect their wellbeing. He is also involved in constructing district level Economic Environment Index for Tamil Nadu.
He was among top five budding Economist of South - Asia at the 5th South Asian Economics Student Meet, New Delhi. He has been awarded Rhodes Scholarship for academic session 2009-11 to read M.Phil. In Development Studies at University of Oxford.

Somya Sethuraman
Somya Sethuraman is a Researcher in the Development Metrics team at CDF. She did her bachelors degree in economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University, and post graduation from Madras School of Economics, Anna University. After graduation, she worked as an Information Analyst for Pipal Research, a company that delivers financial and business research and quantitative analytics to organizations worldwide. While pursuing M.Sc in economics, she interned with the International Development Research Centre, a Canadian Crown corporation that works in close collaboration with researchers across the world to build equitable and more prosperous societies
Mohit Sharma
Mohit Sharma is a researcher with the Development Metrics Division of CDF. He holds a bachelors degree in Economics from Delhi University and a Master of Science in Economics from the Madras School of Economics, Anna University, Chennai. He is currently studying the geographical dispersion of economic activity in India, at the district level as a part of developing the "Economic Activity Map of India". His research interests are Development Economics, Geographical Economics, Public Economics, Public Finance and Macro Economics. He is a merit scholarship holder at the Madras School of Economics and has also interned at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy on a Health and Morbidity project using NSSO data (60th Round).
Anand Shankar
Anand Shankar is a Researcher in the Development Metrics group at CDF. He is a B.A (H) Economics graduate from Ramjas College, Delhi University. While at Ramjas College he was awarded the Rai Kedar Nath Gold Medal Award for the best Student in Social Sciences. Anand holds a masters degree in Financial Economics from the Madras School of Economics, Chennai, where he was a merit scholarship holder. During his masters Anand interned at Roulac India Investment Advisory (RIIA), Hyderabad. He worked on projects like GDP Forecasting (China), Sovereign Credit Rating Model (Colombia) and Stock Market Valuation (Belgium). At RIIA he was given the best intern award. His research interests are Development Economics, Macro Economics, Behavioral Economics and Public Finance. Anand has chaired many parliamentary and conventional debates in Delhi University and has written for his department journal and college websites. His Masters dissertation is titled ‘Explaining the Use of Health Insurance in India.

Akshai Abraham
Akshai Abraham is a Senior Manager in the Development Metrics Group at the Center for Development Finance (CDF), Institute of Financial Management and Research (IFMR), Chennai. Working closely with researchers at IFMR, external subject experts and technology vendors , his primary responsibilities at CDF include harmonization of development data and managing the online dissemination of such data through maps and other visualizations.
Akshai is a graduate in English Literature from Delhi University and an MBA (PGDFM) from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal. He has previously worked as a Research Consultant with AMS Consulting, where he was primarily involved with social sector research studies commissioned by international agencies such as the World Bank, USAID, UNICEF, etc. and also with Aide-et-Action, an international NGO where he worked in fund-raising and education development programmes. Prior to his post-graduation studies, he also worked for a year as a website developer in Linz, Austria as part of AIESEC’s student cultural exchange programme.
Bhagyaraj S
Bhagyaraj is a software engineer with 3 years of experience. Bhagyaraj has completed his Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) from the University of Madras and has worked for 3 years with Citigroup Global Services Ltd., He has extensive knowledge in creating Excel Macros thru VBA Programming as well as databases creation and management. Bhagyaraj will be assisting the Development Metrics team at CDF in the data harmonization processes which are necessary in order to allow visualization of data from various sources, geographies and across various time frames.
Raja Dhanabal
Raja Dhanabal is Manager - Data with the Development Metrics Group at CDF. He graduated with Bachelors in science, and an MBA (Marketing) from Bharathiar University Coimbatore. Prior to joining CDF, Raja's experiences vary from working with Enterprise works/ VITA - an international NGO, and with MART Consulting organization where he was primarily involved with Rural Marketing and social sector research studies commissioned by Multinational company's and international agencies such as the Hindustan Unilever ,Godrej Sara Lee, Heinz and Shell Foundation, World Bank, etc. His interests revolve around Rural Marketing, Intergraded Business, Business Innovation and Rural development.
